Privacy notice
This explains what personal information GradeHunt collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed. Last updated 7 September 2026.
Who is responsible
GradeHunt is run by Will Hunter, who is the data controller for the information described here. For any question about your data, or to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, email will@gradehunt.co.uk.
What is collected, and why
When you submit a question to the question board we store your question and, if you give it, your name. Ticking “submit this question anonymously” means no name is stored at all. Questions are used to write answers for the board. Nothing is published automatically: a question only appears on the site once it has been reviewed and answered, and if you gave a name it is shown alongside it. Don’t include anything in the question text you would not want published.
When you sign up for tutoring we store your name, email address, year group, the subjects you are interested in, and your phone number if you choose to give one (it is optional). This is used only to contact you about arranging tutoring. These details are never published on the site.
When you visit the site our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
No cookies and no tracking
This site sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. There are no third-party scripts on any page. That is why you are not asked to accept cookies.
Legal basis
Questions and tutoring enquiries are handled on the basis of your consent, given by choosing to submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing will@gradehunt.co.uk. Server logs are kept on the basis of legitimate interests, namely keeping the site working and secure.
Who else can see it
The site is hosted by Vercel and the information you submit is stored in a database run by Supabase. Both act as processors on our behalf and only handle the data to provide those services. Depending on where the database is hosted, information may be stored outside the UK. Your details are never sold, and never shared for marketing.
How long it is kept
Published questions and answers stay on the board indefinitely, since they are there for other students to read. Questions that are not published are deleted within 12 months.
Tutoring enquiries are kept for as long as needed to arrange lessons, and for up to 12 months afterwards. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
If you are under 18
Most students using this site are 16 to 18. If you are under 16, please talk to a parent or guardian before sending your contact details. A parent or guardian can ask for anything about their child to be removed by emailing will@gradehunt.co.uk, and we will do it without asking for a reason.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is used. Email will@gradehunt.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
